Hi Waist.

August 23rd, 2010

These are a pair of high-waisted pants I bought from Monki (such cool stuff) in Sweden when I went on holiday with some of my best friends. I found them in my cupboard the other day and thought I would take them out for a ice-lolly and walk in the park. I had forgotten how much I really like them and how super comfy they are, so long as you don’t eat a large cranberry, brie and potato pizza (my favourite) just before you put them on hehe. I have a black velvety pair too, which are now also on top of my trouser pile.

High-waist, hello and welcome. What do you guys think?

Greg has an application called fatbooth on his i-Phone that basically takes a picture of you and then turns you into a fat bastard. What do you think? Hahaha.

Now I have a face to match my pig on a horse body. Hehe.

Here comes the bride.

This weekend was Shane’s sister’s wedding. She looked very beautiful and the whole day was super sweet. Doug came with us and him and I decided that champagne and gin and juice would be the night’s drinks of choice. Plus 1 x red sambucca hahhaa, which I haven’t had since I was 18. It stained my fingers immediately and it still tastes like something a pirate would use to soak his dead parrot in. But anyway we had it to celebrate Doug catching the garter, which he has never done before – we were both so excited, something a lot of the other guys on the dance floor didn’t really understand. All in all it was an awesome night filled with much needed dancing. Which reminds me, If anyone needs a dancing wedding partner, drop me a mail. I’ll be there!

Leanne your package has arrived from Adriana xxxxxxx I also got a little present from her, which is flipping amazing. Look it’s meeeeee. Yes it is. Thank you Adriana, YOU-ARE-AWESOME. I’m going to captain some ideas into this little book now. Good-bye x

After our morningafternoon in Cullinan, we went to the Casbah roadhouse, where we smashed out faces with proper old school slap chips and double thick milkshakes. Yum!

Then we climbed on some horses and I proceeded to laugh for pretty much the rest of the afternoon. Shane on a horse is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. He was sliding around like cooked spaghetti on a shallow saucer. He was bouncing all over the place, so was I, but part of it was because I could not stop cry-laughing while the horses were trotting so I couldn’t concentrate on the up down motion. I definitely want to go again, it was so nice.

Ok so the next picture is one of my most favourite from the day because I look about 27 months pregnant in it hahahaa. I look like a pig on horse as my copywriter so eloquently put it. It looks like just the part of the photo that i’m in has some weird Photoshop bulge effect on it (I hope haha). Ride fatty ride!

It’s my birthday today and our work is nice enough to give us the day off, so Shane and I have decided to take a drive to Cullinan. Why you may ask. I have no idea. I feel like going horse riding and Shane thought we should head in that direction. So we’re off, but before I go I thought I would give one of you awesomes a birthday present. I bought this beautiful margazette bow brooch from an antique store in Port Alfred and I have been waiting to give it to someone special and that someone might just be you and that’s not all – I’m also going bake 20 Red velvet cupcakes for the winner, which you can come have at Wolves with a bunch of friends, or in a takeaway box so you can eat them alone in the bath at home – personally that’s what I would do. If you don’t live in Jhb but win, don’t stress, you can redeem the cupcake voucher whenever you’re in town, even if it’s 10 years from now. I’m sure i’m still going to be baking hee.

So what I have done is designed a ‘happy birthday to you’ token, all you have to do is print it out and take a picture of yourself with it. Then mail it to me at angie.b@networkbbdo.co.za. Best picture wins. Yikes hope this works, or else i’m going to be crying on my red velvet cupcakes while I destroy this antique with a R35 hammer.

Happy snapping x x  xx

Lets take a drive.

This weekend I went to Parys for a wee bit with my mom and dad, who live in Zimabawe, so I don’t get to see them too often, which makes me very sad. We had to go fetch some stuff from there for my dad’s work, so I didn’t have much time for all the shops, but I did managed to gather a few beauties before I whizzed home with my folks and a bag of flipping fatty biltong mmmmmmmmmm. There is a new shop that has opened up in town that has so much cool ‘junk’ in it. I was like a kid in an antique store, ok let me re-write that sentence cause that doesn’t make any sense – I was like an Angie in an antique store. Yes, better.

The beautiful pale blue and brass sweet bowl below, came from there. I love this colour combo, there is something about this shade of blue that makes me feel like a baby bird in a nest of amazing. The stamp on the back says Kendal, Old Foley, I think, unless my eyes deceive me. I wish I knew more about stamps and names and stuff. I guess I could Google it. Yes I could.

I found this pretty deer print, which is a nice add to my picture collection.

And then I also bought this little skunk. Look at her, she can spin all the way around her mini jungle gym. She was hiding behind a bunch of stuff in the store, but I managed to sniff her out and now she’s sitting happy in my cabinet at home. There is no stamp on her, just a mark of awesome.

Picked these 2 sweet little rose and gold plates up for a steal. R20 each. I also found an amazing old school farm house metal sieve, which I forgot to take a picture of, I will post that one up tomorrow…

Our friend Nadia for Cupcake Couture is running a giveaway on her blog and the prize is made up of 3 Hello Fox pieces. Nadia makes awesome handmade jewelry herself (which will be part of a giveaway very very soon) and sells it online and at the I Heart Market in Durban, which Jo and I are dying to go to. This place looks like it’s packed with flipping cool handmade stuff to spend your loot on. So I hope you win these treats too so you can gallop your faces off to the market to say hello to Nadia and all the other clevers who are selling nice things by the sea.

*Nadia was telling us that there is another one happening in September, Jo and I are booking our tickets right now. So expect to see some Hello Fox love over there soon if you live in Durban x x

Sorry about the no post on Friday, I was in Rustenburg. We watched the Japan vs Denmark game on Thursday night and then we spent a few days in town with Shane’s parents. We had such a nice few days relaxing and watching soccer. I can’t believe I’m so into it. We even went to a fan park yesterday to watch Germany kick England’s lily white butts. Hahaha. Soccer Forever.

I’m flying!
