wednesday what a nice day

September 25th, 2008

shane and i found this little art deco cabinet in a cool little second hand furniture store. we paid R450 for it. i think we got a good deal. it’s going to go up in our new kitchen, in our new flat, when we find it. ha!

all the little goodies on top of it were bought yesterday from the voortrekker antique fair. don’t they all look super good together? i’ll answer this one for you – YES.

the little yellow dogs are lucia ware, we thought a matching pair would be nice. we found them in 2 different shops, but they’re identical, like twins separated at birth. yes very interesting. the clock is from the 70’s. the bunnies are salt ‘n pepper shakers, i like them a lot and the jugs are just plain pretty. all in all the day was a huge antique hunt success. we even bumped into our nice friends jelena, foolish, kezia, sean and sandra. we all shopped and then we ate flippin ugly. what a nice day.

if liewe heksie had a pet, this would be it. i found her in a second hand store on louis botha. probably the coolest thing i ever bought from that place.

my pretty friends and i have just come back from a 10 day hoilday in amsterdam and sweden. this is the 4 of us in our rad flat in amsterdam. man alive it was fun. we walked a lot. we shopped a lot. we went into H&M a lot (gina wanted to kill us a lot for doing that). we bought high-waisted pants a lot. we ate a lot of junk. we ate a lot of pasta and drank a lot of tea. in fact i think i nearly gave birth to a tea baby. no lies. but all in all it was awesome and i learnt 2 very important things over there. 1. i have the nicest friends EVER and 2. how to say hello in swedishin: hej hej.

woop! where to next ladies? mexico anyone?

i’ve just come back from sweden, yip that’s me, international. anyway, we were walking to a flat party (which just by the way, was totally awesome) when i looked to the right of me and saw this handsome fella in the window. i immediately ran into the shop and asked, how much for the dog in the window. the owner gave me a price and i flippin paid it. just look at him. he is so awesome. well done angie. well done.

shane’s mom saw these at a scrap metal yard/shop in rustenburg, she thought i would love them. she was dead right. we went and bought them on saturday. we’re keeping them for our new flat, for the balcony or the kitchen, we haven’t decided yet. shane?     * i also bought a skipping rope this weekend, but don’t worry i won’t make a gif out of that little experiment, so you’re safe, unlike these 2 who are going to have front row seats. yikes.
