i love elasticated belts. one cause they don’t care if you’ve had 4 and half cheese burgers in a row, they just stretch with the flow and 2, because they are super 60′ s pretty. i bought the brown one from an antique fair in pretoria for R45 - the fair is held a few times a year at the voortrekker monument and it’s way fun to go to, plus they have amazing steak and borewors rolls, which thankfully don’t come from the 40’s ha. the yellow one i found in the hospice store on louie botha and i paid a whole R5 for it. i need to get an elastic for it, but that’s easy to do.
sometimes Mr Price has pretty shoes for pretty prices that make me pretty happy. i couldn’t help buying these sandals in blue and red. maybe i’ll wear one of each colour at the same time, then when people see me they can call me crazy and “funky” - man i hate that word as much as i hate sharks in a swimming pool - yes this is a genuine fear of mine! thanks Steven Spielberg, i hope you trip on your stupid but very talented face.
welcome everyone to…………………………Wolves…………………………….. this shop has had us running around like mad for the last few weeks, but it has totally been worth it. it is exactly how i imagined it would be and more. what do you guys think of the name? am i going to see you all there? man, i hope so. we have cinnamon sticks and i’m not afraid to say that they rule some serious face, there are also loads of other awesomes so come empty stomached. oh and our book shelf looks a little bare, but we have the latest Frankie magazine - aaaaaaaaa, and lots of cool books are on their way, there is also free wi-fi, not to mention the best coffee in illovo. we open officially on tuesday x x x 4 corlett drive, illovo, johannesburg x x
and if you were wondering why we called ourselves what we did, it’s because shane, greg and i were actually raised by wolves, which is something you probably didn’t know about us and a few months ago, mama wolf unfortunately passed away, so in her honour we decided to call our shop Wolves. yes. the picture above was taken many years ago when we were all smallies.
so excited. thanks to everyone who has left me comments and sent me mails and wished us all good luck with the shop. i will be sure to have cake for ever single flipping one of you and if you think i can’t do that, you are sorely mistaken, i can eat any man, woman, or small animal under the table when it comes to the cake. someone dare me. please! i feel like cake.
*i will post photos of the party on my blog tomorrow x x good night everyone x
i pulled out these 2 pairs of sunglasses from my sunglass box this morning. i can be fancy and serious at the same time. gold=fancy. black=serious. white=stupid. black=serious again. what clever sunglasses. well anyway, these 2 pairs cost me R20. thank you.
we have been working all day like crazy kids on our shop, which is officiously opening on mondaaaaaaay. this friday we are having a small party for our friends and family. i really hope everything is going to be ready by then, or else all our guests are going to be hammering whilst singing “hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to work i go” while they sip on their americano de latte supreme - is that even a drink? man, i know nothing about coffees. haha. awesome. i really hope i am going to see all, or most of you there at some point. we can eat cake and talk to each other’s faces, rather than on the computes. now, that would be nice….
*the block photo is a picture of our signage. everyone keeps asking what the name of the shop is, but we’re not telling till it opens. nope. any guesses?
i went secondhand shopping the other day and look what followed me home. i think they might look mighty sweet in our new shop. it’ll be like having 3 guard dogs that are as useful as a fist full of glitter pie. what? i don’t know. sorry.
thanks so much to everyone who entered this competition and thanks Hui for the pretty prizes. will the winner please meet me in the alley outside the the johannesburg train station to collect your parcel, which after a series of swift karate chops to the knees, will hopefully be mine. i’m warning you i’ve been watching ninja warrior on the series channel, so come prepared!
on saturday jo and i shopped the whole day. we bought quite a few things, like these pretty gray bowls from @home for the flat and for the shop. i can’t wait to eat ice-cream soup out of them. i also found this amazing small red cooking dish. look at how pretty the detail is. i never really go into @home that much, but that’s all changed. credit card say hello to my new little friend.
i also bought this amazing blue and white floral maxwell william layered cake plate. man alive, imagine eating red velvet cupcakes off this thing. soon my pet soon hee…..
a few people from our creative department are at the design indaba and a few of us are not. so i baked a cake, jo made some chocolate button decorations for the top of it and the remaining few stuffed their faces this morning. i’m happy now, like a child in Barney’s padded arms. happy friday everyone x x
