but here’s just a quick thing that made me feel better - it arrived in the post today from hong kong. shane came and dropped it off at my work. ooohwweee! now my camera is smart, like a smart thing. thanks e-bay.

sorry guys been on shoot all day yesterday and i’m going to be on shoot all day today. i’m making some new chicken licken ads. yes. we were shooting in ormonde yesterday. there is a big and very strange china mart there and during lunch i went exploring, i bought these awesome wooden woodland creatures and carousal . they are so beautiful. can’t wait to make them.

my friend karen drew this very super cool piece. it sits on my coffee table at home and it makes me smile every time i look at it. my gran, not so much. she looks at it and thinks i’m a bit strange haha. thanks karen.

so today, seeing as it is a tuesday, i thought i’d introduce you to my new friend Louise. she lives in the UK where she collects lots of bits and pieces from all sorts of places like jumble & car boot sales, charity shops etc. she then likes to take these things and make awesome pieces like these.

how awesome is her ruffle necklace? she loves collecting all sorts of vintage things, which drives her boyfriend mad cause they live in a small flat. shane has the same problem with me, i’m constantly coming home with something shaped like an animal or a vintage. poor boys.

oh and one more thing, i asked louise what she would do if she was attacked by a bear, as one would ask a new friend. she reckons: I’ve heard that you should try to puff yourself up and make yourself look really big, but I’m ridiculously small and unscary so I’m not putting my trust in this advice. Maybe if I had a really big stick I could be more intimidating? Or i know one kind of  bear can’t climb trees. So I could get in a tree…but I can’t remember which kind that is so, to answer your question, I’d probably just make a fool of myself and get eaten.

shane and i went milk jug shopping for the coffee shop this weekend. we went to queen’s street in kensington where we found these very pretty pieces. we also bought the pink teaset for the shop. i can’t wait for the it to open and for all you guys  to be using this stuff. when it does, i’m going to dance around it like a nutcase in a rainstorm.

so yesterday my friend davis had his birthday party at george lea park. as a present i baked him an extravagancer of awesomeness and future toothache. the cake you see before you was a chocolate/vanilla/caramel treat/whipped cream/buttermilk chocolate icing/chomp/smartie tower of awkwardness, that tasted like a very super sweet cake, i guess ha. we lit the flag and sung happy birthday to davis and as we finished, the inevitable cake fight broke out. cake faces all around. fun. ps: there were than 4 of us there, in case you were wondering.

*oh man, we look like 4 lonely mexicans in a holdup. haha.

today is friawesomeday. first of all i got this awesome mail from anastasia in dubai.

then i got a brand new laptop. it’s so shiny and mysterious. i’m like a school kid who got a double peanut butter barone sandwich for lunch. as if someone’s mom would do that. i’m going to. my kid is going to be the fattest happiest dancer in the whole world.

say hello to my newest bambi. he came all the way from argentina with my awesome friend leigh. he’s beautiful.

also went past the shop this morning. the floor is nearly done and the walls are getting painted soon. one word- AWESOME. yes.

i also made this little pouch this morning…hmmm… maybe i’ll keep my berries in it.

and last but not least. say hello to my new friend amy. shane and i had her and her husband over for supper last night. they are very cool and look how nicely she matches my (jo’s) cushions hee.

last night we went to this cool little outside venue called Hot Box studios in pretoria for a desmond gig. i took my trusty camera along and took some photos. it was too much fun and i wasn’t the only one to think that, the crowd when blazing mad. good fans, good. good desmond and the tutus, good x x

this is another necklace made by the clever Miss behind Skermunkil. it was bought for me by good friend william. it’s so pretty and nice, just like him. i bought the bird whislte from a staionary store for R3.99. so sweet.
